Overview
The Volant Closed Box Air Intake for the 2007–2008 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, as well as compatible GM SUVs with 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, or 6.2L V8 engines, is engineered to deliver increased performance and engine efficiency by enhancing airflow and reducing intake temperatures. It features a sealed, oversized airbox made from cross-linked polyethylene that draws in cooler, denser outside air through a cold-air scoop. This design significantly improves air volume over the stock system, helping the engine breathe better. The intake includes a high-velocity venturi filter adapter that ensures smooth airflow through the MAF sensor, boosting throttle response and combustion efficiency. The system typically comes equipped with a MaxFlow 5 oiled cotton gauze filter, known for its high-flow performance and reusability after cleaning. It’s built with high-temperature silicone couplers and stainless steel clamps for long-lasting reliability under the hood.
